I've always associated death with darkness and falling asleep. It was a concept I generally held until the winter of 2011, a season marked by questions around where to find hope in the midst of difficulty, pain and suffering. During that time my view of death turned from a falling asleep to a waking up, a stepping into light.

In this song, Jesus joyously invites humankind to step into the light, trusting him and his promises in the midst of difficulty, pain, loss, sorrow, and uncertainty.
